Labradorite is named for Labrador, the region in Canada where it was first mined. Those who discovered it were quickly enamored, but long before this discovery the native peoples knew of this stone and associated it with the Aurora Borealis.

It is a highly mystical and protective stone, often referred to as a stone of transformation. It raises consciousness and deflects unwanted energies from the aura. Also said to hold esoteric knowledge, it can transport us psychically into another world or into other lives. It encourages our inherent magical powers to come to the surface, enhancing clairvoyance and connection to our spirit guides. It can also aid in tapping into the Akashic Records, past life recall, and psychic readings. It also helps us to balance analysis and the rational side with our inner sight.
